Christina's Staff

Christina Lesher, LBSW, JD

Christina Lesher routinely provides legal advice in the areas of Medicaid Planning, Special Needs Planning, Probate, Guardianship, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and other legal issues confronting elderly and disabled individuals. Christina is a graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, and she has been a licensed social worker since her graduation from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.

Christina serves on the board of directors for the Texas Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is a past member of the board of directors of the Disability and Elder Law Attorney Association of Houston, Texas. For three consecutive years, Christina has been named one of Texas' Best Elder Law attorneys by The Best Lawyers in America, and she was recently named a Texas Rising Star by Texas Monthly Magazine.

Christina frequently speaks to professional organizations, social workers, attorneys, and the community on topics such as Hot Topics in Elder Law, Long-Term Care Planning, Medicaid, Alzheimer's disease, Family Dynamics, and other topics facing older adults and persons living with disabilities.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Christina was a caregiver for her grandfather who suffered from dementia. She has dedicated her career to assisting older adults and persons with special needs. A native of Huntsville, Texas, Christina now lives in Houston with her husband, Kirby, and son, Luke.

Andrea Wilson, JD

Andrea Wilson grew up in Pasadena, Texas, and later attended Texas Christian University. At TCU, Andrea majored in Political Science with a minor in Art History, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and graduated magna cum laude in 2006.

Andrea is a 2009 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center where she focused her studies on the law of health care. She became a certified mediator in 2007, and she was named Health Law Student of the Year by the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics in 2008. Andrea served on the editorial board for the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy, and her own article, Missing the Mark: The Public Health Exception to the HIPAA Privacy Rule and Its Impact on Surveillance Activity, was published by the journal in 2009.

Andrea joined the Law Office of Christina Lesher, PC, as a clerk during her final year of law school, and because she found the work so engaging, she readily accepted the offer to join the firm full time after graduation. Her own experience with a loved one who suffered from Alzheimer's led to a desire to help other families facing the same challenges, and she is committed to efforts to raise awareness of Alzheimer's through her active involvement with the Houston Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Joca Williams

Joca Williams grew up in the Heights area of Houston with her parents and three brothers. She graduated from The Center for Advanced Legal Studies in 2003 and has worked in the legal field for over 10 years.

Joca joined the Law Office of Christina Lesher, PC, in October 2008, and she is actively involved in the Medicaid application process. She enjoys meeting clients and becoming a support system for them in what can be a challenging and sometimes emotional process. Joca loves the sense of accomplishment that comes with helping a family secure financial stability and peace of mind for a loved one.

Joca lives in south Houston with her family. She enjoys a good laugh with her husband and experiencing all the "firsts" with her young daughter.

Dilean Carranza

Dilean Carranza grew up in the Alief area of Houston with her parents and two older sisters. She graduated from Houston Community College in 2009 with an Associate’s Degree in Fashion Merchandise. Dilean recently joined the Law Office of Christina Lesher, PC, in March 2010 as a receptionist. She has gained a strong interest in elder and special needs law, as it affords her the opportunity to assist families in what can be a difficult time. Dilean lives in south Houston with her husband of four years and her two dogs, Shrek and Fiona.
